BASIC SKILLS LAB (BSL)

Basic Skills Lab  

Goals of the Program:

  • To provide an alternative schooling method at the Salinas ROP Center for students who do not fit into the traditional public school setting.
  • Students are provided with a non-threatening, comprehensive experience that leads to raised self-esteem and eventual success.
  • Students are enrolled in 2 hours of the Basic Skills Lab/GED prep and in a 2 hour ROP course in order to obtain job skills.

Referral:

  • Students must be 16 3/4 years of age
  • Principal or Counselor of the home school must schedule an appointment at Mt. Toro High School for an intake conference.

  Individualized instruction when needed
 
    ROP Restaurant Careers Class
 
  • The BSL classroom is not designed to provide students with the opportunity to catch up in credits nor is it designed for students with specific learning disabilities or students with severe language barriers.
